Using the pannier rack
Crash caused by loaded pannier rack
The riding performance of the bicycle changes with a
loaded
pannier rack
, in particular when steering and
braking. This can lead to a loss of control. Such
damage may cause you to fall from the bicycle and
injure yourself.
You should practice how to use a loaded
pannier
rack
safely and reliably before using the bicycle in
public spaces.
Crash caused by unsecured luggage
Loose or unsecured objects on the
pannier rack
, e.g.
belts, may become caught in the rear wheel. Such
damage may cause you to fall from the bicycle and
injure yourself.
Objects which are fastened to the pannier rack may
cover the bicycle's
reflectors
and the
driving light
. The
bicycle may be overseen on public roads. Such
damage may cause you to fall from the bicycle and
injure yourself.
Secure any objects which are attached to the
pannier rack
sufficiently.
Objects fastened to the
pannier rack
must never
cover the
reflectors
, the
headlight
or the
rear light
.
Crushing the fingers in the spring flap
The spring flap on the
pannier rack
operates with a high
clamping force. There is a risk of crushing the fingers.
Never allow the spring flap to snap shut in an
uncontrolled manner.
Be careful where you position your fingers when
closing the spring flap.
