If a parameterised maintenance event is reached for the gate and the operator of
the gate system is to be alerted to this, the flashlight can be configured
accordingly. Section “7.8.4 Maintenance request
with flashlight” describes the
procedure for this in further detail.
7.6 GATE STATUS INDICATIONS
The HMD24 can signal two different gate conditions via relay outputs.
The output relay “Rel2” is preset by the manufacturer such that it is active, i.e.
the contact is closed, when the gate OPEN position is reached. The same applies
for the “Rel3” output relay in the CLOSED gate position.
7.7 SETTING THE TIMERS
Some gate movements can be triggered automatically by predefined time settings
in automatic mode. The parameterisation of these times for each menu is
described below.
Hold-open time 7.7.1
When the OPEN limit position is reached, the gate can be automatically closed
again by the control system after an adjustable time period (0 to 3600 seconds).
If a value of 0 is entered, the closing-run timer is switched off and the gate
remains open until the next CLOSE command.
 Menu: “Settings”, “Set timer”, “TMR hold open”: set to “xxx”.
Example: If the “TMR hold open” parameter is set to 5 and the system is in
automatic mode, a time counter starts when the gate reaches the OPEN limit
position that automatically initiates the gate closure movement after 5 seconds. If
during this time a further OPEN command is issued, or an installed light barrier is
activated, the time counter is re-started.
This value can also be entered by the customer without entering a password.
The closing-run timer is not activated if the maximum number of reversals
for the CLOSE direction has been reached:
If the gate is moving in the CLOSE direction and does not reach the CLOSED
position because the relevant safety contact strip (not a light barrier) is activated,
the gate moves back into the OPEN position. The closing-run timer then restarts.
Such an action can occur a maximum of 5 times in a row. After this, the gate
remains open and the time counter no longer starts. Only when the next CLOSE
command is issued and the CLOSED position has been reached is the reversal
