Preparing the alarm system on Horizon Series incubators
To change the delay period for the temperature alarms
!
WARNING:
Changing the delay period for temperature alarms requires that you remove the
access panel from the incubator, which exposes you to the risk of electric shock.
Regulations for your organization may require that only designated service
personnel remove the access panel. Follow the guidelines for your organization.

Disconnect the leads from the backup battery for the power failure alarm. This will disable the power
failure alarm while you adjust the delay period.

Turn off the incubator and disconnect it from AC power.

On top of the incubator, remove the access panel and locate the alarm delay control on the alarm board.

Using the screwdriver, turn the alarm delay control counter-clockwise until it stops. This decreases the
delay period to 0 minutes.

Using the screwdriver, increase the delay period by turning the alarm delay control clockwise to
the appropriate position. Turning the control clockwise until it stops will set the delay period to
approximately 8 minutes.

Connect the leads to the backup battery for the power failure alarm. This will enable the power failure
alarm.

Install the access panel on the incubator, and connect to AC power.
5.2.2
Delaying the motion alarm
NOTE:
This section only applies to PC4200h models, which have a built-in agitator.
You can control how much time elapses between when the built-in agitator stops agitating and when the
alarm is communicated.
The alarm delay control for the motion alarm is located on the rear of the incubator. For more information,
see Section 2.3.1, “Touring the alarm output area.”

The delay period can be set to a value between 0 and 8 minutes. At the factory, the delay period is set at the
halfway point (approximately 4 to 5 minutes). Acceptable tolerance is as established by your organization.
You must have the following to change the delay period:

Small flat-head screwdriver
To change the delay period for the motion alarm
NOTE:
Avoid leaving the delay period set to 0 minutes. If set to 0 minutes, an alarm will
activate immediately whenever the incubator is turned on.

On the front of the incubator, enable the audible motion alarm by turning the key switch to Position 1.
