4. Install Firestops
For Horizontal Runs -
Firestops are
REQUIRED
on
both sides of a combustible wall through which the
vent passes.
NOTE
Model SLK-01TRD does not need an exterior firestop
on an exterior combustible wall.
To install firestops for horizontal runs that pass through
either interior or exterior walls:
•
Cut a 10 in. x 10 in. (254mm X 254mm) hole through
the wall. The center of the hole is 1-inch (25.4mm)
above the center of the
horizontal vent pipe.

Pour poser des coupe-feu pour des conduits
horizontaux traversant des murs intérieurs ou
extérieurs:
•
Couper un trou de 254 mm x 254 mm (10 in. x
10 in.) dans le mur. Le
centre du trou doit se
trouver à 25,4 mm (1 in.)
au-dessus du centre du
conduit horizontal.
•
Placer les coupe-feu de
chaque côté du trou et
les clouer ou les visser.
•
Les écrans thermiques
des coupe-feu
DOIVENT
se trouver au sommet
du trou.
• Faire passer le conduit
de ventilation dans les
coupe-feu.
