2.1 M eas u ri ng d evice
The measuring de v ice is a stainless steel measuring spring to w hich strain
gauges (SG) are applied. The measuring de v ice simultaneousl y forms the
upper part pf the transducer housing (Fig. 2.1). The SGs are arranged so that
four of them are stretched and the other four are compresses
w hen a force is
applied to the transducer. The transducer circuit contains correcting and com
pensating resistors, in order to reject undesirable influences on the zero signal
and sensiti
v it y .
2.2 H ou si ng
The housing w ith its integral measuring spring is closed b y a floor plate w el
ded to its underside. The measuring spring on the force transducer has a
threaded pin
w hich acts as a force conductor. A remo v able adapter is
scre w ed to the lo w er part of the housing and acts as a force conductor v ia
jointed e y elets (see Section 7).
