7.4 Safety test
1.
Remove unit covers as described in the Operating Instructions
(Maintenance Chapter).
2.
Only on water appliances:
Proceed as follows to test the
pressure relief valve:
Switch on the unit by pressing the
key.
Open the
Nominal values
menu page.
Set the
Nominal value 1
parameter to 40 °C.
NOTICE!
Series 3:
Switch on the unit. Set the nominal value
as prescribed to 40 °C.
(see Operating Instructions “Measuring points -
Preselection”)
When the nominal value 40 °C is reached, briefly open the
safety valve during operation. Open the knurled thumbscrew
on the safety valve until some water or steam of water
escapes via the overflow.
Then completely tighten the knurled thumbscrew again.
Switch off the unit by pressing the
key.
3.
Carry out the following visual checks:
Power Cord: Inspect insulation and connector area for
damage.
Thermal isolation: Check for saturation by heat transfer
medium, damage and location.
Tightness: Check the connections for signs of leakage.
General condition of unit: Check for signs of exterior damage
and dirt accumulation.
4.
At the end of the visual checks, reinstall the unit covers as
described in the Operating Instructions.
