INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1967 - TO SUIT MAZDA 6 WAGON AUGUST 2002-ON
PLEASE READ INSTRUCTIONS THROUGH BEFORE YOU BEGIN
WARNING : 1. Do not drill, cut weld or otherwise modify the towbar.
2. If you are using electric welding on a motor vehicle, always check that the vehicle is not equipped with electronic
engine or instrument management equipment. Failure to do so could destroy any onboard computers. If in doubt,
check with the vehicle's manufacturer.
1. Ensure all hardware items have been included.
2. Remove spare wheel.
3. Remove mud flaps where fitted.
4. Remove tail light lenses from rear guards.
5. Remove bumper bar.
6. Remove 1 self tapper & 1 plastic trim button each side from behind tail light housing.
7. Remove 6 plastic trim buttons from lower lip of bumper.
8. Remove 1self tapper each side from top lip of bumper and wheel arch then remove bumper.
9. Remove and discard impact beam.
10. Fit towbar so as to align with impact beam captive nuts, fit 6 M8 bolts spring & flat washers
supplied.
11. Tighten all bolts to torque listing.
12. Using holes in tail section of towbar as a guide drill 12.5mm holes through spare wheel well.
13. Fit boot plate assembly M12 flat & spring washers tighten all bolts to torque listing.
14. Using sticker template as a guide cut bumper as per diagram.
15. Refit in reverse steps 8 to 2.
16. Towbar rating sticker to be conspicuously located on inside rear end of the driver’s door.
