1 Introduction
Chickens see more light than humans. They can see ultraviolet
light, making them see objects differently than humans (such as
food, surrounding area and eachother). The chicken eye is more
sensitive to light than the human eye, illuminance levels are ex-
perienced higher by chickens than by humans. Light meters are
tuned to the light spectrum as man sees it. Because of this, light
intensity for chickens is lower than measured.

Measuring Gallilux gives the possibility to check the light inten-
sity for chickens. It might just be that two lighting sources both
for example generate 20 Lux, but that both sources generate
different Gallilux values.
