Section 2 Installation
Diamond Series™
STEP 12
Compare the PA Module currents and voltages against the factory test
data. Major discrepancies should be investigated before proceeding.
STEP 13
Next, compare the external power meter (connected to a precision
coupler in the cabinet output line) to the GUI cabinet output power
reading. If they do not agree the GUI reading will have to be re-
calibrated as follows:
a.
Go to the Main Menu and select Maintenance Menu, then Calibrate
Meter, then Power Meter Calibrations.
b.
Select FWD on the PA Cabinet to be calibrated. If the
detector voltage shown here is 4V (+/-0.5V) then con-
tinue. If it is not within this range, then refer to "5.5.1 For-
ward Power Calibration" on page 5-10 for a more
complete calibration procedure.
c.
Set the power level for that cabinet to match the external power
meter.
d.
Press SAVE DATA. The GUI power meter for the cabinet and the
external meter should now agree.
STEP 14
Repeat for each PA Cabinet.
2.9.8
Bringing Up RF Output: Multiple PA Cabinets
After all PA Cabinets have been brought up to power using the previous procedure, use
this procedure to bring the full transmitter up to power.
STEP 1
Connect the power meter to a precision power metering coupler at the
output of the bandpass filter. Set the power meter offset to the coupling
value of the directional coupler. In addition, connect a spectrum analyzer
to one of the other forward power couplers at the input of the bandpass
filter.
STEP 2
Reduce the exciter(s) output power to zero.
STEP 3
Press the transmitter ON button on the Control Cabinet front panel. All
PA Cabinets should turn ON.
STEP 4
Navigate to the Cabinet Phase & Gain adjust screen (from the Main
Menu select Cabinet Phasing). On this screen, the combining system
reject load powers can be monitored while transmitter power is
increased.
