15.1 Cleaning
•
Please ensure that the power plug is removed from the mains socket prior to attempting any
cleaning procedure. This bed is not provided with a mains switch so the mains plug is the
only separation from the mains.
•
Clean using a damp cloth.
•
Only use mild detergents without scouring agents to clean all metal parts and
wooden and plastic surfaces.
•
Never use sharp edged tools (knives, metal scraper s) or aggressive solvents for cleaning.
•
Never use high-pressure cleaners for cleaning.
•
Observe the instructions on how to use the detergents in order to avoid damage to
the surfaces.
•
The bed should be carefully dried after cleaning and before plugging it back in to the
mains.
15.2 Disinfection
•
Disinfect using a soft cloth.
•
Only use normal household disinfectant.
•
Do not use harsh, abrasive disinfectant / cleaners.
•
Observe the instructions on how to use the disinfectant in order to avoid damage to
the surfaces and to protect your health.
16. Maintenance and Inspection
Hazards due to electrical and mechanical faults!
•
Immediately remove faulty/defective medical beds from operation and secure them
against unauthorised use (disconnect the mains plug).
•
Immediately show any defects to the responsible personnel.
•
It is imperative that you always rectify any faults which could influence the function
and safety of the nursing bed immediately.
•
Observe the safety instructions contained in Section 5
.
16.1 Maintenance – daily
•
The daily maintenance work can be performed by the nursing personnel or carer:
•
Lower both bed end actuator motors until they switch off automatically.
•
Check the side rails (option) for easy movement and damage.
•
Check the correct function of the locking device on the side rails (option).
•
All moving parts on this bed are fitted with maintenance-free self-lubricating bearings
and should not be oiled or greased.
•
Check to ensure that all cables are located safely, not dangling down, and not at risk
of being caught in the bed mechanism, by a mobile hoist or any other equipment that
may be used under the bed.
Whenever the bed is moved
•
Check the mains cable and plug for damage and kinks.
•
Route the mains cable in such a way that it cannot be pinched or rolled over.
•
Check to ensure that all cables are located safely, not dangling down, and not at risk
of being caught in the bed mechanism, by a mobile hoist or any other equipment that
may be used under the bed
