factors so that the new bars range covers the new reading. The number of bars
shown is a function of the number of readings received: 0 to 100 readings = 10 bars,
101 to 500 readings = 20 bars, 501 to 1000 readings = 40 bars, 1001 to 5000
readings = 100 bars, 5001 to 10000 readings = 200 bars,
>10000 readings = 400
bars. If the NPLC setting is less than 1 PLC, the maximum number of bars is 100.
For the Binning Manual, you can set the bar number to 10, 20, 40, 100, 200, or
400.You can specify the bar range as Low and High values, or as the Center value of
the Span value. For example, the above histogram range (from -5 to 4 V) can be
specified as -5 V Low value and 4 V High value, or -0.5 V Span value and 9 V Center
value.
The histogram main menu also includes a Cumulative soft key, which can hide or
display a line representing the Cumulative distribution of histogram data. Note that
this line represents all data only when the external bars is displayed; If the external
bars is not displayed, this line does not represent the external bars data. On vertical
scaling, the cumulative distribution line always ranges from 0 to 100%, regardless of
histogram scaling.
Histogram with statistical information
Displaying Statistics (Shift > Math >
Statistics) is especially useful for histogram
display. For example, in the figure below, the thick blue line is the mean, and
each thin blue line represents one standard deviation from that mean.
