Cooking zones and sensors
Cooking zones and sensors
The sensors
• When activating the sensors of the sensor
fields (3) and (4) always use the entire
fingertip and not just the very end of the
finger. Your finger must be clean and dry
for the sensors to react appropriately.
• The sensors may not be covered by ob-
jects.
Switching on cooking zones
1. To switch on the desired cooking zone,
touch the sensor (6) for approximately
3 seconds.
You will hear a beep.
A red LED flashes above the sensor.
2. Within minute touch either
– the > sensor (7) to activate the output
setting or
– the sensor (10) to activate the tem-
perature setting.
The default value 1200 W and/or 160 °C
is displayed.
3. If necessary, change the default output
and/or temperature setting using the + / –
sensors (8).
The cooking zone starts to heat up.
The LEDs above the sensor and above
the > sensor (7) and/or the sensor (10)
illuminate permanently.
4. You can change the temperature and/or
output at any time during operation.
Pot recognition
Pot recognition is installed in the cooking
zones. Pot recognition ensures that the cook-
ing zone will heat up only if there is a pot with
a ferromagnetic bottom or another object
made of the same kind of metal located on
that zone. The cooking zone becomes inac-
tive as soon as the pot or the magnetic object
is removed. Then the symbol “ “ appears on
the display (5).
Switching off cooking zones
CAUTION
Risk of burns!
If the pot is simply removed from the cook-
ing zone, the cooking zone remains active
for another minute. During this minute the
cooking zone starts to work again if a pot
or another ferrous object is placed on it.
■
Always switch the cooking zone off using
the sensor; never by removing the pot.
• To switch off the cooking zone, touch the
sensor (6).
You will hear a beep.
All LEDs are switched off, only the resid-
ual heat symbol “
H
“ is displayed until the
cooking zone has cooled down.
Residual heat display
The cooking zone heats up during operation
along with the hot cookware and remains hot
after switching off. This is indicated on the
display by the residual heat indicator “
H
“.
CAUTION
Risk of burns!
■
If the mains plug is disconnected, any re-
sidual heat may not be displayed.
