WARNING
Health hazard!
Spurting refrigerant can damage the
eyes.
■
If refrigerant comes into contact with
the eyes or mucous membranes, im-
mediately fl ush eyes with clean water
and seek medical attention.
High concentrations of refrigerant va-
pour can cause dizziness, headaches,
nausea or asphyxiation.
■
Do not inhale refrigerant vapour.
■
Immediately air the room if refriger-
ant leaks.
NOTICE
Risk of damage to property!
Insuffi cient air circulation may lead to
overheating and cause damage to the
appliance.
■
To ensure adequate air circulation, do
not close the ventilation openings in
the appliance housing.
■
Observe minimum distances (see
“Suitable location” on page EN-23).
1. Place the appliance on a level and solid
surface.
Only for the appliance HGT8550EE:
The appliance is equipped with screw feet on
the left side. They can be used to accommo-
date for an uneven surface.
2. Tilt the appliance slightly and screw/un-
screw the screw feet.
Basic cleaning
Wipe the interior with vinegar water before
using the appliance for the first time. Then
wipe it out with clean water and dry all of the
parts off afterwards.
Connecting the appliance to
electricity
WARNING
Risk of electric shock!
Touching live parts may result in severe
injury or death.

When positioning the appliance, en-
sure the supply cord is not trapped
or damaged. Do not kink the supply
cord or lay it over sharp edges.

Connection to a timer or a separate
remote control system for remote
monitoring and control is not permit-
ted.
■
Do not locate multiple portable sock-
et-outlets or portable power supplies
at the rear of the appliance.
1. Insert the mains plug into an easily ac-
cessible and properly installed socket
(220–240 V~ / 50 Hz).
The indicator lights up.
2. Wait three to four hours before setting in
food to be frozen. With a very high am-
bient temperature – for example in the
summer – you should wait more than four
hours before storing food.
