The cast-iron hob
“Burning off” the cooking zone
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
■
The solid plates should be used with-
out cookware only when ‘burning
off’ the cooking zones before the ini-
tial start-up.
• This process is part of the start-up. It is
needed to remove the preservative layer
on the solid plates. Switch on all cooking
zones one after the other to the highest
position:
– Turbo solid plates approx. 3 minutes
– Normal solid plates approx. 5 minutes.

During its use, the device and its ex-
posed parts can become hot.

The solid plate get very hot during
operation and will remain hot after
they are switched off.
NOTICE
Immediately remove anything that
boils over.

The cast-iron hob has two turbo and two ‘nor-
mal’ solid plate. The turbo solid plate has a
red cross in the middle; this disappears with
increased use. The turbo solid plate operates
like normal solid plates, but they are more
powerful and heat up quicker.
Every solid plate has its own temperature
controller.
• Turn the temperature controller to the
desired heating power as required: from
gentle to rapid boiling.
The heat settings (0 - 3) can be seen on
the temperature controller.
• Turn the temperature controller to level
“0” to switch off.

The yellow power indicator light (8) is illu-
minated as soon as at least one of the solid
plates or the oven is switched on. It will switch
