• Select the buffer value by pressing UP or
DOWN or just DOWN (for pH 302) until
the secondary LCD displays the value of
the first solution (e.g. “
7.01
”).
• Only when the read-
ing is stable (less
than ±0.03 variation
in a 10 seconds time
interval) the "
BUF

" in-
dicator will stop flash-
ing (after about 30
seconds) and the
"CFM" indicator will
start blinking.
• Press CFM to con-
firm the calibration.
If the reading is not
close to the selected
buffer, "WRONG

"
and "WRONG " will
blink alternately. If
the reading is close
to the selected buffer
(±1 pH), the meter
stores the reading
pH 4.01 if you are going to measure acid
samples, or pH 7.01 and pH 10.01 for alka-
line measurements or, for pH 301 only, per-
form a 3-point calibration for the entire range.
PROCEDURE
• Press RANGE (for pH 300
and pH 302) to select the
pH measurement mode.
• Press pH (for pH 301) to
select the pH measure-
ment mode.
• Remove the protective cap
from the pH electrode.
ONE POINT CALIBRATION (OFFSET)
• Immerse the pH electrode
into the selected buffer (e.g.
pH 7.01) buffer solution and
shake briefly.
Note: the electrode should
be submerged ap-
proximately 4 cm
(1½") into the solu-
tion. The tempera-
ture probe should be
located as close as
possible to the pH
electrode.
• Press CAL. The primary LCD will display
the pH value using the current offset and
slope, with the "CAL" and "
BUF
1
" indicators lit.
For pH 302 only: the printer will also print
step by step instructions for the calibra-
tion procedure.
