The File Menu
New Project
– see above
Open Existing Project
– same as above
Save Project
– saves the project.
Save Project As
–allows you to save an existing
project as a new project. It keeps all the data from
the existing project.
Save Project As Template
–allows you to save an
existing project as a new project. It keeps only the
information entered in Step 1. All the data from
Step 2 is erased.
Exit
– exits Plane6 and if the project has not been
saved will prompt you to save it.
The Tools Menu
Preferences
- Opens the Preferences window to
change units, decimals, target type, etc.
Preferences –
Change data display units,
resolution, target setup and typical setup items.

Export Line Data to CSV File –
Exports data in
a CSV format to easy importing into Excel. After
clicking on this item, you will be prompted to
enter a filename for the project. It uses the
existing filename by default. After saving the file,
use Excel to open the file and the data will be in
there.
Show Line Dimensions
– Opens a window
showing the number of measurement points, the
line distance for each point on the line segment
for the horizontal lines, vertical lines and diagonal
lines.
