Procedure to Measure Cross-Slide Squareness/Straightness
1. Align L-702SP Beam to Spindle
Rotation Axis.
As shown in Qualifying L-702 Laser
on Page 11, align the L-702SP laser
beam to the spindle rotation axis.
Flip prism in turret to Scan Mode (see
Page 19).
2. Attach A-1519-2.4ZB Target to the
Cross Slide.
Attach the A-1519-2.4ZB Target to the
cross slide using custom fixturing or
the magnetic base that comes with the
target. Adjust the height of the target
so the laser plane is in the middle of
the window by rotating the turret by
hand to see where the laser beam
hitting the window.
Adjust the cross-slide axis to the end of
its travel.
3. Turn on Scan Plane and Connect
Readout and Zero Target
Turn on the scan plane, which also
automatically turns on the A-1519-
2.4ZB Target. Connect the R-1308
Readout or turn on the R-1356-2.4ZB
PDA Readout and open the Read15
software.
Zero the target.
