6.2 Functions
The functions of this product are as follows.
Gain Adjustment
Because of the Gain Adjustment Function of the hardware, it can be varied by every
1 step in the range of 1 to 10. At this time, the output data increases linearly with
respect to the setup value of gain.
The default value is "1". The conversion gain value (48.8e-/ADU typ.) is mentioned
in "6.1 Specifications" when gain= "1".
Offset Adjustment
Because of the Offset adjustment function of the hardware, it can be varied by every
1 count step in the range of 0 to 255. At this time, the setup value of offset is directly
added to the output data. However, since this function is setup independent of the
Gain Adjustment Function, the setup value of the offset is directly added to the out-
put data regardless of the setup value of gain. The default value is "10".
Sub-array binning
This is a function that operates sub-array binning in the Sensor. Normally the data of
the entire pixels is output but when 2x2 sub-array binning function is used, the data
of the entire pixels is reduced to 1/4. This function is used when the data transfer
time is to be reduced by reducing the image data size. However, the resolution is
reduced when this function is used. The default value is "1x1".
Data Acquisition Mode
This function sets up the operational mode for data acquisition. Among the opera-
tional modes, there are basically 2 modes, viz., internal synchronization mode oper-
ated by software trigger and external trigger mode that operate in synchronization
with the external signal. Furthermore, the external trigger mode is divided into 2
operational modes depending on the input method of the external synchronization
signal. The default value is "EXT.LEVEL1".
(1) Internal Synchronization Mode ("INT" Mode)
This mode fetches data by trigger timing from the application software. The Sensor
is repeatedly operating while maintaining the storage time set up in the main unit
portion beforehand.
(2) External Trigger Edge Mode ("EXT.EDGE1" Mode)
This mode fetches the data in synchronization with the external trigger signal edge.
However, the external trigger signal itself is entered from the sensor unit. The exter-
nal signal performs dummy scanning by fixed duration pulses in synchronization
with the X-ray radiation start time till the external trigger signal is entered by the
Sensor. It starts in synchronization with the edge (Negative) immediately after the
external trigger signal is entered and performs synchronizing with the trailing edge
