Troubleshooting
Problem
: I cannot connect to my hydroSpider
1.
Make sure that you are powering the hydroSpider with 12V into its
BATT
port, or with a 16V-
24V charger supply connected to its
Charger
port. Double check that the power polarity is
correct. See 2.6.2 - Connecting power.
2.
Ensure that both the USB cable and Ethernet cable are plugged into your computer, and that
the Comms-end of the LAN link cable is plugged into the hydroSpider.
3.
Your browser settings may be preventing the connection to the hydroSpider’s web interface.
a. Disable automatic dialing: In IE8, go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections, and
then select “Never dial a connection”.
b. Disable proxy servers: In IE8, go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN
Settings, and uncheck “Use a proxy server for your LAN”
c. If you changed any browser settings, close and restart your browser.
4.
Your network settings may be preventing connection to the hydroSpider’s web interface.
For Windows XP, perform the following actions:
a.
Click on “Start”->”All Programs”->”Accessories”->”Communications”->”Network
Connections”
b.
If in the newly opened window if you don’t have an item called “Network Bridge” go to
step 3.
If you do, right cli
ck on it and select “Properties”. Go to step 4.
c.
Right click on the item “Local Area Connection” and select “Properties”.
d.
Near the bottom of the new window click on “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)” and then
click on “Properties”
e.
Select “Obtain an IP address automatically”
f.
Select “Obtain DNS server address automatically”
g. Click OK
h. Click OK

Close the Network Connections window
For Windows 7, perform the following actions:
a.
Click on the ‘Start’ icon->”Control Panel”->”Network and Internet”->”Network and
Sharing Cent
er”->”Change Adapter Settings”
b.
If in the newly opened window if you don’t have an item called “Network Bridge” go to
step 3.
If you do, right click on it and select “Properties”. Go to step 4.
c.
Right click on the item “Local Area Connection” and select “Properties”.
d.
Near the bottom of the new window click on “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)” and then
click on “Properties”
e.
Select “Obtain an IP address automatically”
f.
Select “Obtain DNS server address automatically”
g. Click OK
h. Click OK

Close the Network Connections window
