General instructions
12.1
Compliance
Declaration of conformity
The TOPlift L+ edition is a machine within the meaning of Directive
2006/42/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17/05/2006
(Machinery Directive) and falls under Annex IV, No. 17 (Machinery for lifting
persons or persons and goods where there is a risk of falling from a height of
more than 3 m).
The following sections apply: Art. 12, Paragraph 3, Letter b and Paragraph 4,
Letter a of the Machinery Directive (service lift with EC design type approval)
The detailed EC declaration of conformity shall be drawn up separately.
EC design type approval
The EC design type approval for the TOPlift L+ edition has been carried out by a
European notified body (see certificate in annex).
12.2
Warranty and limitations of liability
Warranty
The manufacturer's warranty on the TOPlift L+ edition is 2 years.
The manufacturer's or the commissioned installation company's warranty for the
installation work is 2 years.
Limitation of liability
Hailo
Wind
Systems is not liable for damage that results from violations of the
provisions described here.
Unauthorised modifications to
the machine are prohibited
No modification or extension of the service lift may be made without the express
prior written consent of the manufacturer. There is a danger to life if the safety
devices are changed!
Hailo Wind Systems assumes no liability for damage occurring due to user-
initiated modifications.
12.3
Obligations of the operating company
NOTICE
In this manual, the term operating company refers to the party that holds the
authority and responsibility for this machine – usually a company or
corporation.
The operator is the person who operates and uses the service lift.
Responsibilities of the operator
and the operating company
It is the operator’s responsibility to ensure that the machine is correctly installed,
commissioned, operated, and serviced, and that this work is only carried out by
persons who have been appropriately trained for these tasks.
It is likewise the responsibility of the operating company to ensure that the
machine is fully compliant with laws and regulations applicable to the location
where the machine is installed and operated.
It is the operator’s responsibility to operate the machine in accordance with all
safety instructions and procedures described in these operating instructions, as
well as in accordance with all other safety precautions applicable for the wind
turbine generator.
