2.1.4 Electromagnetic Environment
Any possible interference source, wherever it is from, impacts the
VG 21-08 negatively in the form of capacitive coupling, inductive
coupling, electromagnetic radiation, or common-impedance (including
the grounding system) coupling. To resist the interference, make sure
to:
z
Take effective measures against the interference caused by
the electrical power grid.
z
Use a grounding system or lightning protection grounding
different from that for the power supply system and keep
them as far as possible.
z
Keep the device far from radio transmitting station, radar
station, and high-frequency high-current devices.
z
Use electromagnetic shielding when necessary.
2.1.5 Lightning Protection
Although the VG 21-08 is designed to be lightning resistant,
excessive lightning interference can damage your device. To protect
your device against lightning.
z
Ensure the chassis is connected to earth ground.
z
Ensure the earth point of the power socket is well connected
to earth ground.
z
Add a lightning arrester to the front end of the power input to
better protect the power supply against lightning strikes.
2.1.6 Checking the Rack
When installing the VG 21-08 in a rack, make sure that:
