Garbled terminal display
Symptom
Terminal display is garbled.
Solution
To resolve the issue:
1.
Make sure the configuration terminal is configured with the same settings as the console port:
Baud rate
—9600 bps.
Data bits
—8.
Parity
—None.
Stop bits
—1.
Flow control
—None.
Terminal type
—VT100.
If you modify the settings for the console port of the gateway, configure the same settings for
the configuration terminal.
2.
If the issue persists, contact H3C Support.
Power supply failure
Symptom
•
The power supply status LEDs on the SEM indicate a power supply failure.
M9000-AI-E8 gateway
—The PWR OK LED on the SEM is off and the PWR FAIL LED is on.
If the power supplies on an M9000-AI-E8 gateway are operating correctly, the PWR OK
LED on the SEM is on and the PWR FAIL LED is off.
M9000-AI-E16 gateway
—The PWR LED on the SEM is steady red.
If the power supplies on an M9000-AI-E16 gateway are operating correctly, the PWR LED
on the SEM is steady green.
•
Each power supply provides input and output status LEDs to indicate its power input and output
status. If the input or output status LED is off or not steady green, the power supply is faulty,
Solution
To resolve the issue:
1.
If the input status LED is off, the power supply has transitioned to self-protection state. Examine
the power supply for no power input or low power input voltage issue.
2.
If the output status LED is orange, the power supply has transitioned to the over-temperature
protection state. Examine the cooling system for inadequate ventilation, and make sure every
empty slot is covered by a blank filler panel.
3.
If the output status LED is red, the power supply has transitioned to a self-protection state
because of a power supplying issue. Examine the power supply for output short circuit, output
overcurrent, output overvoltage, input undervoltage, or remote disconnection.
4.
Examine the power cord connections. If a power cord is loose, reinstall the power cord. If a
power cord is broken, replace it.
5.
Examine the power supply installation. If the power supply is not fully seated, reinstall the power
supply to ensure that it has a close contact with the backplane of the gateway.
6.
Verify that the power supply system is operating correctly and provides a normal voltage. Make
sure the power supplies can provide the maximum power required by the system.
