: Simple authentication.
key-id
: Authentication key ID, in the range 1 to 255.
cipher

plain
: Plain or cipher password. If
plain
is specified, only plain password is supported and
displayed upon displaying the configuration file. If
cipher
is specified, both plain and cipher are
supported, but only cipher password is displayed when displaying the configuration file. If no keyword
is specified, the cipher type is the default for the MD5/HMAC-MD5 authentication mode, and the plain
type is the default for the simple authentication mode.
password
: Password. Simple authentication: For plain type password, a plain password is a string of
up to 8 characters; for cipher type password, a plain password is a string of up to 8 characters, and a
cipher password is a string of up to 24 characters. MD5/HMAC-MD5 authentication: For plain type
password, a plain password is a string of up to 16 characters; for cipher type password, a plain
password is a string of up to 16 characters, and a cipher password is a string of up to 24 characters.
Description
Use the
ospf authentication-mode
command to set the authentication mode and key ID on an
interface.
Use the
undo ospf authentication-mode
command to remove specified configuration.
By default, no authentication is available on an interface.
Interfaces attached to the same network segment must have the same authentication password and
mode.
This configuration is not supported on the null interface.
