Grounding the router through the grounding
terminal on the rack
CAUTION:
•
Correctly connecting the grounding cable is crucial to lightning protection and EMI protection.
•
Ensure a minimum resistance of 5 ohms between the router and the ground.
•
Make sure the rack is reliably grounded before grounding the router.
To ground the router through the grounding terminal on the rack:
1.
Remove the grounding screw from the grounding hole in the front panel of the chassis.
2.
Use the grounding screw to attach the ring terminal of the grounding cable to the grounding
hole.
3.
Remove the hex nut from a grounding post on the grounding terminal of the rack.
4.
Use needle-nose pliers to bend a hook at the other end of the grounding cable. Attach the hook
to the grounding post and use the hex nut to secure the hook to the post. See
