3.5 Installing an IX1000 on a Workbench

If there is no standard 19-inch rack, you can install an IX1000 on a clean workbench.

3.5.1 Verification Before Installation

z

The workbench is sturdy enough to support the storage appliance and cables.

z

The workbench is stable and well earthed.

z

Your IX1000 is ready and has been moved to a place near the workbench and
convenient for moving.

3.5.2 Installation Procedure

To install an IX1000 on a workbench, perform the following steps:

1) Two persons are needed at both sides to lift and gently move the IX1000 to the

place in front of the workbench.

2) Lift the device a little higher than the workbench and place it on the workbench.

Caution:

z

As IX1000 is ventilated in the front–back direction, reserve 30 cm in front of and at
the back of the device and 10 cm at both sides of the device for heat dissipation.

z

Do not place any heavy object on an IX1000.
