13 Receiving encrypted satellite channels
This satellite receiver is equipped with two CI slots ( Common Interface). It allows you
to connect a CA module for various encryption systems and broadcasting networks.
Encrypted channels can only be decoded with a CA module suitable for the encryption
system and the corresponding Smart card. The Smart card contains all the information
for authorisation, decoding and subscription.
• Unclip the cover

by pressing it once and open it.
• Insert the Smart card

into the CA-Modul

in such
a way that the chip

on the Smart card is facing the
thicker side (top) of the CA module.
• Insert the CA module with the Smart card carefully, with-
out twisting it, into the guide rails in the CI slot and push
it into the CI slot.
• To remove the CA module press the appropriate ejector

and pull the CA module out of the CI slot.
When working with the CA module, please read the appropriate operating
instructions by the respective manufacturer.
• Press the
MENU
button.
—> The following menu appears “ Main Menu ”.
• In the “ Main Menu ” use the

buttons to select the
line “
Common Interface
” and confirm using
OK
.
—> The following menu appears “ Common Interface ”.
• Use the
▼
/
▲
buttons in the menu “ Common Interface ”
to select the slot loaded with a CA module and confirm
using
OK .
—> A menu generated by the CA module appears on
the screen. Its operation is described in the CA
module’s operating instructions.
• In the CA module’s menus for setting the functions/select
lines use the
▼
/
▲
buttons and confirm using OK .
• Press
Z
to return to the previous menu.
• To end the menu “ Common Interface ”, press the MENU
button.
