Chapter 7: Door Assembly

Door Assembly for Bins with All Rings Heights

Two-ring double frame door to be used for bins with all ring heights.

General Information

1. The commercial two-ring door is installed in the bottom two rings.

2. The door should normally be placed in line with the conveyor. A intermediate discharge well should

be located near the wall to clear grain from the area of the access door (as with any access door).
The door must be positioned directly below the vertical seam as shown in

Figure 7-4, page 78

.

NOTE:

Door should be installed using the sidewall sheet layout . To determine how to start the first
ring, take the top two (2) rows of sidewall in Figure: sidewall sheet layout and repeat until
you have reached the tank ring height.

3. The door has an inside frame weldment and an external frame weldment/assembly. If the tank has

not been erected the internal frame weldment should be placed inside the tank before erection. If
the tank has been erected or erection has begun, it will be necessary to remove sidewall and stiff-
eners in the door placement area to place the inside frame weldment.

Assemble the Top and Bottom Inner Door

1. Install the reinforcement angles (F) on the top door panel with bolt and nut (G).

2. On the right hand side of the inner top door panel, install the three (3) inner door hinges (H) with

bolts and nuts (G).

3. Install the right and left hand panel latches (A and B) to the inside of the reinforcement angles (F)

with the bolt, latch bushing and lock nut.

4. Install the latch bar (D) to the right hand and left hand panel latches (A and B) with four (4) bolts and

nuts (E).

5. After all parts are installed, tighten all hardware to the recommended torque specifications. See

Bolt

Torque Specifications, page 28

6. Repeat the procedure to assemble the bottom inner door.
