5.3.5 Level sensor
The level sensor consists of a piezoresistive pressure sensor and a pressure tube connected by a
pressure hose. The pressure tube is located underneath the screw cap and extends down into the
tank. The screw cap includes a condensate trap and a connection for the tube. You can remove
the pressure tube for maintenance, service and cleaning. The pressure sensor measures the liq-
uid level in the tank. The rising liquid level compresses the air inside the pressure tube and hose,
and the piezoresistive pressure sensor transforms the changing pressure into an analog signal.
The controller uses the analog signal to start and stop the pump and to indicate high-level alarm.
