Black/silver (B) and clear film (C) cover installations are described in this section. Consult cover details page in Quick Start section before
continuing for general overview of connections.
Pay close attention to instructions that pertain to the cover material shipped with your tunnel.
COVER INSTALLATION
Gather parts:
• Clear Film Cover: 102197 U-channel & 102198 spring wire
• Black/Silver Cover: 110155 Aluminum Bar Stock (field cut to fit if needed)
• FA4474B Tek screws
• Cover conduit pipe: 131S075 & 131P0735
WARNING:
To prevent damage to cover and to prevent
serious personal injury, DO NOT attempt to install main
cover on windy or stormy days.
To install black/silver cover, skip Step 1 and begin with Step 2. To install clear
film cover, begin with Step 1:
1. Attach 102197 u-channel to peak purlin using FA4474B Tek screws
spaced 24" on-center. Cut final section of u-channel to length if needed.
See cover details page in Quick Start section for additional information.
2. Assemble 1.315" roll-up conduits – one for each side. See side profile
diagrams in Quick Start section for details and pipe identification.
NOTE:
Secure each pipe splice with a Tek screw and wrap connection
with duct tape to protect material.
3. Once assembled, position a conduit along each side of frame.
4. With assistance, carefully stage and pull cover onto frame.
For some
frames, the over-the-top dimension is similar to frame length dimension.
Determine cover orientation by measuring material first. Material typically
drapes down each side to ground. Approximately 12" should extend
beyond frame at each end rafter. If material doesn't seem to fit, rotate it
90° and check fit. Be careful not to damage material in the process.
5. Once material is correctly oriented on frame, square its position and add
weight along one side to hold in place. See photo above. Inset shows
cover conduit in grass along panel edge.
NOTE:
For visibility, photos show black/silver material used for cover
installation examples.
Have assistants hold cover material in place on
frame on side that is not weighted down.
