preparing sander for operation
the Model t23086 uses 7" sanding discs
with a pressure-sensitive adhesive back
(psa). see the grizzly catalog or
www.
grizzly.com for a complete listing of
available sanding discs.
a backing plate that is not firmly
secured to the arbor could come
loose during operation and cause an
impact injury to the operator. always
make sure the sanding disc backing
plate is firmly secured to the arbor
with flange before connecting the
tool to air.
to secure the backing plate and install
the sanding disc:
1. DisConnECt sanDEr FroM air!
2. hold the arbor wrench on the flats of
the arbor to keep it from turning, then
thread the backing plate onto the arbor
until it is tight (see
figure 2).
3. Continue to hold the arbor still with the
wrench, then thread the flange onto
the arbor and tighten it with the flange
spanner wrench.
4. Clean away any adhesive residue from
the backing plate.
5. peel the protective backing from the
sanding disc, align it to the backing
plate, then press it firmly onto the
plate.
