Adjusting Platen Tilt
The platen can be adjusted from 0-45°, making
it perfect for angled workpieces. Whenever the
tilt is adjusted, the clearance between the platen
and the table should also be checked to prevent
fingers and workpieces from being pinched.

To adjust platen tilt:
1. DISCONNECT MACHINE FROM POWER!
2. Loosen platen tilt lock knob, then rotate plat-
en tilt handwheel until angle scale displays
desired angle (see
Figure 18).

3. Tighten lock knob to secure setting.
4. Measure gap between table and sanding belt
(see
Figure 18).
— If gap is less than

", no adjustment is
required.
— If gap is more than
1
⁄

", proceed to Step 5.
5. Loosen (4) cap screws securing table to
upper cabinet (see Figure 19).

6. Adjust table until gap is less than

", then
tighten cap screws to secure.
IMPORTANT: If table cannot be adjusted
within
1
⁄
16
" of sanding belt, platen is worn and
must be replaced.

Edge & End Sanding
Proper use of this sander will yield excellent
sanding results due to the oscillating move-
ment. Always use the miter gauge to support the
workpiece whenever possible.
Moving sanding belt can cause serious
personal injury if it comes in contact with
fingers, hands, or other body parts. Make
sure workpiece is always supported against
table. Use extreme care to provide a safe
distance between belt and any part of your
body.
