Continuity Test
Disconnect the test leads from the component or circuit under test
before changing the position of the range selector.
Failure to observe this precaution may result in minor injury and/or
damage to this instrument.
1. Shut off and disconnect the power. Make sure all capacitors are discharged. Voltage must
not be present.
2. Plug the black test lead into the COM input terminal, and plug the red test lead into the
V
Ω
BAT input terminal.
3. Set range selector to the
position.
4. Touch the test leads to the circuit under test. The buzzer will sound continuously if the
resistance of the circuit is approximately 40
Ω
or less.
Note: The display will not correspond to the circuit resistance.
Do not connect the meter to a source of voltage or current with the
range selector in the
position.
Failure to observe this warning may result in serious injury or death.
