Installation & Operating Instructions
A 1-way switch allows light control from one location only,
2-way switches control lighting from 2 separate locations.
A 2-way switch may also be used as a 1-way switch by
wiring in accordance with instructions.
1. The mounting surface must be flat and free from
grease, dirt or loose material.
2. Ascertain the required position for the unit. Remove
rocker switch plate/s (grey) by inserting a small flat
bladed screwdriver either side of the switch and lever
off. Unscrew the 4 screws and remove the switch cover
thereby exposing the switch module by pulling firmly.
3. If necessary take the back box and drill a small hole
through the drainage point that will be at the lowest
point when mounted. This is necessary to ensure that
any residual moisture or condensation has an escape
route at the back of the box.
4. Use a suitable drill/wall plug for the surface on which
you are mounting your weatherproof switch and use
No.8 countersunk screws (not supplied) to secure the
back box through the 4 corner holes.
5. Remove a suitable cable entry cover by pushing
through from the inside of the back box. If
circumstances permit the best entry point for the supply
cable is the bottom one.
6. If cable entry is via 20mm conduit use the conduit gland
to secure the conduit to the back box. If entry of cable
is to be direct use a suitable IP rated cable gland.
7. Use only mains cable of sufficient rating for your
application.
8. Strip back insulation from each wire and connect to
appropriate terminals. Ensure earth conductor is
sleeved and secured to the earth terminal.
9. Once the unit has been wired, re-fit the switch module
to the base unit and re-secure the switch cover. Tighten
with the 4 screws.
10. Push rocker switch plate/s (grey) back into position
ensuring correct orientation.
