any collisions between the planter and tractor
trailer.
11. Have the truck driver slowly pull the trailer
straight forward, without any turns, from under
the planter.
12. Once the tractor trailer is completely clear of the
assembly area, slowly lower the planter to the
ground.
13. Set all of the parking stands. Block tires to
prevent unintended movements during assembly.

List Assist Installation (Option)
Crushing and Pinching Hazards
A falling section or part can cause severe injury or
death by crushing. Always keep body and body
parts out from under any parts or components of
the planter. Ensure all equipment is properly rated
for the load before attempting to unload or move
parts, or assembly the planter. Ensure all
equipment operates with smooth movements.
Secure Load
Obey all safety instructions from hoist and/or lifting
equipment manufacturer. Be sure hoist chains
and lift straps are properly rated for load and
securely attached to planter part before moving or
unloading parts.
Sharp Object Hazard
Opener disks are sharp and may result in
injury. Wear hand protection when working
in this area.
Crushing Hazard
Make sure machine is secure before
working on the machine. A falling machine
can cause severe injury or death.
Great Plains recommends the planter is hitched to a
suitable tractor while installing the lift assist wheel
assemblies. All parking stands should be used and
the four gauge wheels should be blocked to prevent
unintended movement during assembly.
Lift Assist Wheel Assembly
1. Familiarized yourself with where each lift assist
wheel assembly will be mounted to the center
frame before beginning assembly. The upper
extension weldment (1) and the lower extension
weldment (2) will mount to the rear face of the
center frame.
2. Begin on the left lift assist wheel assembly. Use a
hoist to lift the lift assist wheel assembly into
position. The lower extension weldment (2) will
be positioned on the rear face of the center
frame, around a weldment (3) with the inner set
of u-bolts flanking either side of the weldment (3).
