Chapter 6 – Joystick Tension Adjustment
Joystick Tension Adjustment
You can adjust the tension of the Firebird 2 stick to achieve the perfect “feel”
for your style of control.
Firebird 2 has four separate adjusters to control the stick’s tension as you move
the joystick forward, back, right, and left.
To adjust the tension:
1. Turn the joystick upside down.
2. Notice the slider bars on the base of the joystick (see diagram). Each slider
is labeled from 1 (lowest tension setting) to 6 (highest setting). To change
the tension settings, slide each bar to the setting you prefer.
For consistent response, we recommend that you choose the same setting
across each axis. That is, set the right and left tension adjusters to the same
setting, and set the forward and back adjusters to the same setting.
Square Corners for Calibration
Although most game players prefer a round joystick movement over sticks with
defined corners, some games require the player to move the joystick handle to
opposing corners when calibrating the software to the joystick.
