Chapter 3 – Firebird Control Console
Diagnostics Menu
The tests in the Diagnostics menu are designed to help you identify problems
with your Firebird 2 hardware and connections.
If your joysick is not properly connected, all the diagnostics tests will
respond with appropriate configuration errors.
Firebird Self Test
The Firebird Self Test checks the joystick’s connections and memory. To start the
Firebird Self Test:
Select Firebird Self Test from the Diagnostics menu.
When the test is complete, you will receive one of two messages: ‘Firebird
passed self test’ or ‘Error in self test diagnostic.’ Select Troubleshooting–Error
Messages from the Control Console’s Help for an explanation of the Firebird’s
system messages.
Button Test
Checks that the buttons on Firebird 2 are operating properly.
