6.5 What to Do When Other Devices Cannot be Recognized
If an imaging device such as a digital camera or a scanner is connected to the com-
puter to which the JW220 has been connected, device recognition may not be per-
formed.
Countermeasure: The problem can be resolved by disabling the JW220 monitor device.
Follow the procedure described below to run the Disable utility.
For Windows 98SE/Me/2000/XP
1. Use Windows Explorer to open the [USER GUIDE CD-ROM].
2. Open the [Monitor Disable] folder.
3. Double-click [GMICTLDI.EXE] to run the program.
A confirmation message is displayed on the screen.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
5. Remove the USB cable from the connected digital camera, scanner or other device
and then reinsert it.
The device should now be recognized.
If the digital camera, scanner or other device is still not recognized after you have
performed the above procedure, refer to the following section entitled "How to Check
Whether the Monitor Device is Disabled", and, if it is enabled, proceed to disable it.
