Quick Start Guide

Congratulations on the purchase of your

                 Internet telephone!

Your telephone is already pre-configured for your sipgate account, so that you can attach
it directly to your Internet connection. Please proceed as follows:

First steps with the BT-101

Start-up of your BudgeTone 101 telephone

                 Connected?

After the automatic update, the display lights up blue and
should also show the current time. Your telephone is now opera-
tional. If you take the handset off, you will hear a dial tone.

You are now reachable on your sipgate phone and can select dif-
ferent sipgate participants and free o8oo-Numbers in England,
Germany and Austria. For other calls, such as those to normal
fixed-lines, or mobiles, you will need credit on your sipgate ac-
count.  You may credit your account after logging in, then go to
account & billing and credit your sipgate account.

First attach the handset

, by connecting the enclosed coiled cable down at

the handset base and at the left side of the telephone.

Attach the telephone with the enclosed white network cable to your

Internet connection.

One end of the cable must be connected to a 10 Mbit

Ethernet port (e.g. on one router). The other end has to be connected to
rear wall of the telephone. You router must be set to assign an IP address
automatically to the telephone by DHCP. You may need to adjust your router
to do this.

Attach the power pack.

The appropriate socket is directly beside the net-

work connection on the back of the equipment.

First start:

The telephone starts now and the display lights up blue. From

the first start with an existing Internet connection the telephone downloads
new configuration files from our server. This procedure lasts approximately
5 minutes and may not be interrupted. If the telephone did not flash longer
than 30 seconds, the update was terminated.
