Operation Of Optional Features
Air Conditioner
The Freedom 325 is equipped with an air conditioning systems that cools the consoles and
blows some cool air at the helm. This system operates on AC current only. Therefore, the generator
must be on or the shore power connected before use. To operate this system, first open the air
conditioner seacock located in the aft bilge to supply the air conditioning unit with raw water. On
the AC Panel, turn on the “Air Cond” switch to supply power to the air control panel.
The air control panel is located in the starboard console. The temperature control for this system
is similar to a household unit. Supply vents for the consoles are located on the aft walls of each
console. The return vent is located in the port console on the inboard wall near the floor. The air
conditioning unit is located directly behind the wall where the return vent is installed. Supply vents
for the helm are located at the starboard seat and the port deckwing. Refer to the operations manual
in your Owner’s Packet for specific instructions on using this unit.
N OT I C E
If your boat is removed from the water, leaving the seacock open will drain the water in the air
conditioning system. This may cause an airlock in the air conditioner water pump in subsequent
operation. To prevent this drainage, close the air conditioner seacock. If the boat is being
winterized, leave the seacock open so the water can drain. Then, remove any remaining water
by blowing pressurized air through the system. See the Operation and Maintenance Manual
included in your Owner’s Packet for additional winterizing information.
C A U T I O N
To avoid restriction due to debris in the raw water intake strainer, turn off the air conditioner
and close the intake seacock while docking or operating in shallow water.
Bow Thruster
The bow thruster aids in maneuvering your boat. The outboard engines can control the direction
of the stern while the bow thruster moves the bow. Use the joystick control located at the helm to
control the bow thruster by pushing the joystick in the direction you want the bow to move. The
emergency shut-off switch provides a simple method to quickly disconnect power from the bow
thruster motor. Depress this button to disengage the bow thruster in the event of an emergency.
