Operation
Filling with water
• Using a measuring beaker or the like you pour
warm water
into the water contain-
er (
1
). The use of warm water means that the required temperature is reached earlier.
It takes about 2 – 3 minutes before the temperature sensor (
7
) of the device adjusts
to the temperature of the water.
If cold water is used the device requires a lot more time to reach the speci
fi
ed temper-
ature. This can extend the cooking time of the food by around 30 minutes (compared
to the times indicated in the “Table of cooking times”).
• The
MIN
(
8
) and
MAX
(
9
) marks must be observed during the
fi
lling operation! Please
note that the water level will rise a little after the foodstuffs have been added. You
should therefore initially use less water and top up the water level if necessary after
you have added the food.
Adding the foodstuffs
• The foodstuffs to be cooked should be
sealed in a suitable vacuum bag by
means of a vacuum sealing unit. Al-
ways check that the bag is completely
sealed.
• Any seasoning, herbs and spices or oil
can be added directly to the vacuum
bag.
• As soon as the device has reached
the required temperature, the vacuum
bags with the prepared and sealed
foodstuffs are placed directly into the
device or into the vacuum bag holder
(
4
), which is then placed into the de-
vice.
The holder should be used if several types of food are to be cooked in the device
at the same time, to make sure that each vacuum bag is completely surrounded
by water.
The bags should always be covered with water. If they
fl
oat on the surface, they
should be weighed down with a suitable object such as a plate.
