Software
The system can be configured via software programmed within the antenna. In order
to use it, start a terminal program on your PC.
5.1
Terminal Program
In the following we refer to the program
HyperTerminal
®
(
Hypertrm.exe
), which is
part of the scope of supply of Microsoft® Windows® . We use this program on one
hand because many users dispose of it, and on the other hand because it is very easy
to use thanks to the configuration files we deliver.
Nevertheless, any other terminal program can be used, provided that it contains VT52
emulation. If you should use a different program, please read the documentation and
adjust it to the values indicated in section 5.1.2 on page 34.
5.1.1
How to find/add HyperTerminal
Before using HyperTerminal ensure that it is actually installed on your system. If only
the standard version of Windows® is installed on your PC (as recommended during
the Windows-setup), you can easily add it subsequently, using your Windows installa-
tion CD:

Now check in the window that there is a tick in front of
HyperTerminal

; no = ). If yes, the program is installed on your system and then click
(two times) and switch to the next section. If no, set a tick with mouse/keyboard
and close both windows with

Afterwards you will be asked to install your setup CD into your CD ROM drive.
Do so and confirm all installation messages with
. HyperTerminal will be
installed and is then ready for use.
