Adjusting the SSP KONSTANTER
CAL – “Calibration” Function Group
7.1 General Information and Definition of Terms
Adjustment
Also known as
balancing
.
Adjust
(
balance
) a measuring instrument such that measuring
deviation is as small as possible.
Adjustment
is a procedure which permanently changes the measuring
instrument.
Calibration
Determination of deviation at a finished measuring instrument
Indicating measuring instrument:
Deviation of the displayed value from the value determined as
correct
Transmitting measuring instruments:
Deviation of the initial signal value from the value which this
signal would demonstrate in the case of ideal transmission
performance with a defined input value
Retracing
A process by means of which measured values indicated by a
measuring instrument can be compared with the national
standard for the respective measured quantity, either in a
single or in several steps
General
The adjusting routine integrated into the KONSTANTER (
CAL
)
allows for the
elimination of deviation between actual value and
setpoint
resulting from component ageing at user-specified
intervals.
Figure 7.1 a
Continuous Adjustment of Uset
In order to adjust the system,
2 fixed voltage values
(U
off
and U
FS
)
are selected internally (
setpoints
), and a straight line (desired
curve) is drawn between them.
The associated external measured values (
actual values
) are
entered to the system and compared with the setpoint values.
A straight line is drawn between the actual values as well, and
linear deviation from the setpoint curve (slope and ordinate
segment) is saved to memory.
These values are stored to the EEPROM, and are used for all
adjustments.
Each newly adjusted voltage value along the setpoint curve is
calculated based upon the actual curve and deviation, for
adjustment to the exact voltage value.
The same applies to balancing current values.
Adjustment can be executed manually, or automatically via the
interfaces with the help of a PC.
