Valve Seal Puller Kit

Instructions

Directions:

1. Assemble the slide hammer to the lever mechanism and hand tighten.

2. Position the open jaws around the valve seal.

3. Apply single hand pressure to the compression lever until you feel the steel jacket yield.

4. Operate the slide hammer with light blows until the seal is removed.

Adjustments:

1. Since all valve seals are not the same size, it may be necessary to adjust the extractor. This may be accomplished by

turning the adjusting screw found in the compression lever.

2. To avoid damaging the threads in the compression lever, always make sure the adjusting screw has a full compliment

of thread engagement (.19") at all times.

3. If an even smaller setting is required, remove the adjusting screw (#10-32x5/16") and replace it with the longer

version (#10-32x3/8") supplied in the spare parts kit.

4. If it becomes necessary to replace a screw in the extractor body, we recommend heating the screw to 450˚F utilizing a

soldering iron. Remove the screw while hot.

Cautions:

1. Always wear safety glasses when using this tool.

2. Always operate the compression lever with one hand only.

3. To avoid injury, never use any device to apply force to the compression lever.

4. Do NOT attempt to adjust the screws (2) in the extractor body as they have been permanently positioned at the

factory.
