CHAPTER 6 – SERVICE
Cabinet Linking Troubleshooting
Problem Cause Possible
Solution
Bad Wiring
Verify that an Ethernet cable is connected between the
Ethernet port on the A/C power panel and the
computer. While the cabinet is powered on and
connected to another cabinet, check the green LED is lit
to verify a good hardware connection. If you are using
an Ethernet hub, verify the LEDs light up for each
Ethernet port used.
Cabinet will not

Wrong Hardware
Being Used
A cross-over coupler can only be used to link two
cabinets. When linking 3 or more cabinets, use a hub.
Duplicate linking ID
numbers
If you get a duplicate Linking ID number error on screen
you will need to go into the Operator menus and
correct the Linking ID number for each cabinet that
displays the error message. Make sure each cabinet in
the networked group has a unique linking ID number.
Faulty wiring
Verify that an Ethernet cable is connected between the
Ethernet port on the A/C power panel and the
computer. While the cabinet is powered on and
connected to another cabinet, check the green LED is lit
to verify a good hardware connection. If you are using
an Ethernet hub, verify the LEDs light up for each
Ethernet port used.
Ethernet hub is
faulty
Verify the LEDs on the Ethernet hub are lit up and
working. Verify the Ethernet hub is working by
connecting it to a known working computer network if
possible, or try connecting the Ethernet hub to a
working set of linked cabinets.
Cabinet does not link
in software
Mixed software
version
Verify that all cabinets are running the same software
version.
Note:
For all linked cabinets to recognize each other, it is very important to reboot all cabinets in the group
when adding or removing linked cabinets or changing the cabinet link ID numbers.
