General Information
FIG. 93: Secure the tire to be removed using a tire dolly
or hoist. Remove the nuts or capscrews securing the
wheel to the axle or final drive.
m
WARNING: Do not hit the tire or rim with a
hammer. The rapid release of tire pressure
can result in serious injury.
Remove the wheel and tire from the combine using the
wheel dolly or hoist.
Do not unseat beads of an inflated tire. Deflate tire
completely before servicing.
Do not inflate tire that has been run flat or seriously under
inflated without removing and checking for tire and rim
damage.
Wheel Installation
FIG. 94: The discs are offset in the wheel rim.
To set front wheels in the OUT field position, mount the
wheel with the larger offset to outside.
To set front wheels in the IN field position, mount the
wheel with the smaller offset to the outside.
See the Specifications section for the correct wheel lug
nut and bolt torque.
After operating for one hour, check the torque on all lug
nuts and bolts. Check again at ten hours of operation,
making sure the nuts and bolts have held the above
torque settings. After the first ten hours, check the lug nuts
and bolts every 100 hours of operation.
FIG. 95: When reversing the wheels make sure that
there is enough clearance between the valve stem and
the final drive housing to prevent the valve stems from
being damaged.
If there is not enough clearance, or operating in conditions
where the ground is too soft, remove the two plugs that
were shipped in the envelope under the instructor seat.
Inflate a tire slightly over the normal pressure and remove
the valve stem. Quickly insert and tighten the plug (1)
instead of the stem. Repeat the procedure on the other
wheel.
