Assigning groups
After all devices connected to the DALI Gateway have been identified and renamed the devices can be
assigned to the created groups.
For this purpose the DALI devices listed in the left window have to be moved into the right window of
the selected group. The assignment can be done by activating the "->" button between the two
subwindows. An assignment can be cancelled by selecting an assigned device and by activating the
"<-" button.
Using the same procedure it is also possible to have several devices simultaneously assigned or
cancelled.
It is possible to assign devices to more than just one group. The DALI commissioning environment of
the ETS plug-in differs depending on the application program as follows...
In case of application programs of version "0.4" or "1.4" (recommended), it is initially only possible to
assign a DALI device to only one group. This makes the device assignment easier and more clearly
and the explicit assignment does not result in group overlappings. The check box "Hide already
assigned DALI devices" in the commissioning dialog is checked in this case (cp. fig. 39). This is the
default configuration of the plug-in.
Alternatively, the multiple group assignment of a DALI device can be activated, if required. To do so,
the check box "Hide already assigned DALI devices" can be deselected.
The application programs of version "0.2" or "1.2" always allow for a multiple assignment. No difference
is made whether a DALI device may only be assigned to a group once or several times. The check box
"Hide already assigned DALI devices" is not available.
