After the import has been confirmed the plug-in will ask whether the import is to take place with or
without KNX/EIB group addresses (cf. figure 10).
When importing without group addresses the plug-in will not transfer any associations between
communication objects and group addresses of the XML file. Objects are not associated with any group
addresses after the import.
It is also possible to import a XML file with the KNX/EIB group addresses stored in the file. Before
transferring, the plug-in will check all group addresses stored in the XML file. The plug-in will discard
the group addresses if they have either not been created in the current ETS project or if (in case they
are available) are of the wrong data type.
If an XML import with transfer of the group addresses is used on a device that has already been
preconfigured with group addresses in an ETS project, the following must be taken into
consideration:
Group addresses are not transferred completely from the XML template if group addresses are
already linked with communication objects! In this case all group addresses in the device in question
must be deleted in the ETS project before the XML import. Only after that can the XML import with
group addresses be performed.
After each successful XML import with group addresses, the "Sending" flags of the addresses must
be adapted "by hand". This adaptation must be performed separately for each communication object
in the ETS configuration view with a closed plug-in. Setting the "Sending" flag configures in the ETS
the group address an object uses to transmit telegrams actively to the bus (transmitting address).
Only one address of a given object can be transmitting. All other addresses are exclusively receiving.
During an XML import, the plug-in automatically sets the address with the highest value as
transmitting

The import will also overwrite all DALI commissioning parameters (detected DALI devices and group
assignments) with the data of the XML file. It must be pointed out that only the data stored in the ETS
database will be adjusted. A prior DALI commissioning including the programming of the DALI
devices will remain in the DALI devices. For this reason, a new DALI commissioning should always
be carried out after the import of an XML file.
