If you would like to register on a wireless network where registration is checked and
data transfer is encrypted, you must activate the security options of your Gigaset USB
Stick 54.

Select the security mode you require from the
Security
list:
A window opens to configure the mode.
WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK
WPA-PSK
or
WPA2-PSK
offers greater protection for your network than WEP.
WPA2-PSK
is the newer encryption standard. You should therefore use one of these encryption
modes for registration if all components in your network support this.

In the
Encryption
field, select the required encryption method (TKIP or AES).
Remember that when selecting encryption, two connection partners must use the
same type of encryption.

In the
Pre-shared Key (PSK)
field, enter the key you would like to use for registration
on the network.
Note that all components in a network must use the same
Pre-shared Key (PSK)
to
be able to communicate with each other.
If you would like to register on a network in
Infrastructure
mode, first define a pre-
shared key on your wireless router for your network. Then use this for all remaining com-
ponents in your network. You can find more information in the user manual for your
wireless router.
