GigaVUE-HC3 Hardware Installation Guide

GigaVUE-HC3 Modules

With a variety of interchangeable modules and 3.2Tb throughput for CCv1 and 6.4Tb
throughput for CCv2, GigaVUE-HC3 nodes are ready to grow with your needs. The
following modules offer port speeds of 10Gb, 25Gb, 40Gb, and 100Gb:

Modules are hot-swappable and can be installed in any of the available front bays in a
GigaVUE-HC3 node.

However, refer to

Module Removal and Replacement Procedure

(Hot Removal)

for instructions – you must follow a specific procedure when

removing modules to preserve node stability.

Before installing modules in the node, the GigaVUE-HC3 node must be running
software version 5.0 or higher. Before installing the PRT-HC3-C16 module, the node
must be running software version 5.4 or higher and be equipped with Control Card
version 2 (CCv2).

Module Numbering

Modules use standard conventions for identifying network and tool ports, both on the
modules themselves, as well as in the CLI:
