3.3.7 Manipulating Lists via GPIB

3.3.7.1 Controlling List Execution
List execution is governed by the “LR n”, “TR n” and “Ln” commands:
• The
TR n
command specifies the conditions that begin, or trigger, list execution. Valid values of ‘n’, and
their meanings, are:
• 0 – trigger from the external trigger input
• 1 – trigger from a GPIB GET event or from the front panel’s List menu’s trigger softkey
• 2 – trigger immediately
• The
Ln
command specifies the conditions that stop list execution. Valid values of ‘n’, and their meanings,
are:
• 0 - Continuous: Execute the entire current list, repeating it indefinitely.
• 2 - Single Sweep: Execute the entire current list, and then stop; the next trigger will
resume execution at the start of the list.
• 4 - Single Step: Execute the current list point, and then stop; the next trigger will
resume execution with the next list point. The list’s first point is
considered to be the initial current point, and is also considered to
be the point following the list’s final point.
• The
LR n
command simply designates which list is the current list, i.e. is to be executed; it does not itself
automatically cause list execution to commence, unless of course the most recent
Ln
command was
L0
